Edgewood Students Devote Time to Service Project
For the second consecutive year, Edgewood Elementary School marked Valentine's Day with a service project to cap off classroom celebrations. School families and faculty donated an abundance of baby items to enable each student to prepare a "baby bundle" -- that is, a bag decorated with love and filled with essential baby items for families in need in the Philadelphia area. Over 400 bags will be donated to the organization known as Cradles to Crayons. "This started out as a single class activity," said PTO President, Traci Curtis. "It has since expanded to become a school-wide service project that garnered national recognition last year from Character.org."
Principal Stephanie Hultquist praised the students for fulfilling the needs of others on a day that celebrates "love and heartfulness."
