WE ARE A NATIONAL SCHOOL OF CHARACTER!
On September 23, 2016, Penn Valley received its first designation as a No Place For Hate school. Lisa Friedlander presented the banner to Principal Barbara Hidalgo at a school wide assembly. To earn this designation, the school sponsored an assembly program featuring The NED Show, a door decorating contest promoting the various holidays celebrated by our families, and classroom presentations on bullying and cyberbullying by NOVA. The No Place For Hate activities helped to promote the building wide character education initiative. Penn Valley students recite the No Place For Hate pledge each morning to remind the students to be respectful of one another.

BAGS to BENCHES PROGRAM
Penn Valley is hoping to be the recipient of a bench from the Giant Food Stores Bags to Benches Program. It takes approximately 10,000 plastic bags to make one recycled bench. To show our commitment to going green and helping to preserve our environment, we want to collect 10,000 bags and recycle them. Please send your plastic grocery bags to Penn Valley. Bags must be empty and dry. There will be a collection box in the lobby. Watch our tally grow and see how long it takes us to reach 10,000!
