Pennwood Middle School Students Take on Roles from
The Diary of Anne Frank

Eighth grade students at Pennwood Middle School re-enacted many of the details from the non-fiction book, The Diary of Anne Frank, during their study of the Holocaust. These English 8 students (above) taught by Ryan Kennedy took on roles of the characters trapped in hiding during World War II. "To get a true feel for the drama, the students decided to decorate the classroom door to reflect the look of the secret passageway," said Mr. Kennedy. "Immersed in their roles, they learned about family, love, coming together, and the struggles of those trapped under strict rules. Their time in the Annex left them with life lessons they will never forget."

REPORT CARDS NOW AVAILABLE: Fourth marking period report cards are now in the Home Access Center for all grades. Please note that the Home Access Center will be turned off on June 30th until a few days before the start of the 2016-2017 school year. Notification will be provided once the Home Access Center is turned back on.
