INSTRUCTIONS FOR OBTAINING TRANSFERABLE WORK PERMITS

The Pennsbury School District will issue TRANSFERABLE WORK PERMITS TO MINORS:

1. Between 14 and 18 years of age ONLY

2. Living in the PENNSBURY SCHOOL DISTRICT

3. Who are employed in PENNSYLVANIA

STUDENTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN TO OBTAIN WORKING PERMIT

Listed below are the procedures to be followed in obtaining Transferable Work Permits.

1. PARENT OR GUARDIAN MUST:

a. Sign the APPLICATION FOR WORK PERMIT in the presence of a school representative in the Pupil Services Office.  In Lieu of the personal appearance of a parent, the parent may sign an Attestation Document (obtained in the Pupil Services Office) before a Notary Public and must be returned with the Application for Work Permit.

2. STUDENTS MUST:

a. Show proof of age (birth certificate, passport, driver license).

b. Sign the TRANSFERABLE WORK PERMIT in the presence of a school representative in the Pupil Services Office after completion of the Application for Work Permit.

3. PUPIL SERVICES MUST:

a. Complete Section A of the APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT PERMIT.

b. Observe signature of applicant and parent and verify completion of the APPLICATION FOR WORK  PERMIT.

c. Issue the TRANSFERABLE WORK PERMIT and give to student.

 

LEGALLY it is necessary for this entire process to be completed BEFORE the minor may begin his/her employment.

NOTE HOMEBOUND STUDENTS You will not be permitted to work during school hours.  (per the Pennsbury School District Approved Policies & Procedures - Index #5622R1)
